Is Hypnotherapy right for you? Can it help stop anxiety, worry and fear?

Stress Relief Solutions No Comments »

This a continuation of the post about hypnosis for anxiety, worry and fear.

Of course, the question remains, how do you know if hypnosis is right for you? And, what do I do if it isn’t?

The truth is that almost everyone can be hypnotized.  I tell my clients that if they can be curious, have an open mind and want to overcome the challenge or issue they are facing, there is hope, change can happen.  In our private sessions at the Anxiety Control Center, and in our online coaching workshops we give you the questions you need to find the techniques that will work best for you.

If you’re not comfortable with hypnosis, DON’T WORRY.  You can still overcome a challenge,  though it may take longer.  Sometimes, for some people, the long way around is what works.  Before starting therapy it is always good to ask us questions and talk about any concerns.  In this way we can evaluate you as an individual and help you to make educated choices.

Let’s look at why I so highly recommend using the techniques that are in the Anxiety Control Center’s Transformation System.  . . .  to be continued tomorrow.

If you are ready to learn more about hypnotic techniques and learn some new methods to deal with anxiety,
fear and worry  click here.   For only $10 you can get the 90 minute MP3 podcast of containing stress relief tips.
It will be available until the end of November, when our new online coaching sessions will start.

Depression Relief step 3

Stress Relief Solutions No Comments »

Today we will continue looking at the next steps in getting relief from depression.

Review:
A.Whenever you feel overwhelmed, fearful or anxious.
1. Take action by going to  the video guide .
It will guide you in the breathing for calm exercise.
2. Using the breathing exercise will help to change your “state of mind,
to one where you can pay attention and focus inward.
3. The next step to take to find out what is underneath the emotion is to be curious.
4. Say to yourself, “I’m curious about what the anxiety, stress or fear is about”.
This will help you to collect information that you might not be aware of on a conscious level.
5.  Being curious is a vital step to using your mind in a different way.

B. Changing from self blame to self acceptance.

1. In getting relief from depression and other emotions that get in the way of living a full
life, it is important to learn how to be kinder to yourself, as you are, even before the
emotions totally lift.
2. Recovering from depression is a process, keep taking one small step and it will
motivate you to the next step, until one day you will surprise yourself at what you
have accomplished.

3. I believe that it is possible to change even the most difficult emotional reactions
when you find out what is going on underneath.   The first exercise had a
number of purposes.  If you’ve been practicing using it you have already noticed
some changes in your state of mind.  If you haven’t done that exercise yet, please
go back after reading this and follow along with the video.

4. If you have you been suffering from depression and feeling hopeless
there is hope for change.  I have watched so many people use my
Transformation System to get out from under the dark spell of depression.

5. The next step (step 2) in this step-by-step plan is to be curious and begin
to observe what is going on underneath your feelings.   This is different from
judging the feelings.  Many people get angry with themselves for even having
anxiety, worry, and depression or for procrastination.

6. So instead, we will practice this next exercise.  When you get an emotion that
doesn’t feel good, stop for just a moment and ask yourself:
1. “what is going on underneath?”
2. “What is this feeling about”
3.  “what needs of mine aren’t being satisfied”
4. “what am I afraid of”.
5.  Remember instead of blaming yourself for the uncomfortable feelings of
anxiety, depression, worry or for procrastinating, you instead become
curious about the feelings.
6. As  you begin to get the answers, we then can start on the next step of
breaking the problem down into its smallest parts.

We’ll talk more about this in the next post.

Postive Self Talk (3)

Stress Relief Solutions 1 Comment »

The problem with just saying how wonderful you are, or that everything will be all right is that unless the belief is changed they don’t ring true.  For instance if a person has a belief that they can’t do things “right,” no matter how many statements to the contrary, the belief doesn’t change.

Therefore the place to make the change needs to be at the root, where the “belief” was formed.   It is possible to re-program the mind by using self-hypnotic techniques.

When I worked with Sandi, we went back to age 4.  She was living with her aunt and older cousins and was told repeatedly that she didn’t do things right.  She could still remember the embarrassment she felt.

As she looked at this early event she was able to see things with the perspective of a young adult.  She realized her cousin was angry at having her live with them and was just acting out.  It really wasn’t about Sandi’s ability at all.  We did some re-programming around the event and Sandi felt like a weight was lifted off of her.

The key to having positive self-talk work is to first change the limiting belief. Now when Sandi uses positive self-talk, it feels true and enhances her new found feelings of worth.

You can start the process of re-programming your mind

Are Past Lives Related to Panic Attacks?

past life, Stress Relief Solutions Comments Off

A few weeks ago I had received a question from one of my readers, about past life and panic.  I  sent her a quick reply, with a note that I would write more after I was done posting about procrastination.

Recently, when I was snowed in,  I was flipping through the channels and came across of a new TV show called “Past Lives.”  This show brings up an interesting concept of whether past lives exist, and if they can affect what happens in our present life.  Since this TV show about past lives is now running, I have gotten other questions, about the effects of old memories.

So in the next few posts I will be discussing ideas about flash backs, past life memories, childhood memories, decisions and emotions and the effects on our reactions.

In this TV show call “Past Life” the premise is that, not only do past lives exist, but that traumatic past life experiences can be remembered.

The last episode of the TV show there is a person you accepts the young  boy’s (actor)  “flash backs” as real.  Her job is to help him to unravel these memories and the fear that came from them.  This is similar to what I do as a hypnotherapist,  getting to the root and releasing old “junk” that lies there.  Of course in the TV show, she had a purpose not only help the boy but to solve a crime using his “memory of a past life.”  Very interesting show.

Here is the Question sent in by one of my readers:  Do you think there is anything to the theory that past lives affect and may cause anxiety attacks?

Audrey’s Answer:
Before I answer with my beliefs, we’ll first look a bit deeper at the question.  Let’s think about what the questioner really is asking.    I’d like to find out what is underneath the question about past lives in relation to anxiety.  In my next post I will continue to discuss this past live issues and present life fears.
