Lack of Patience Causes Stress – Is self-hypnosis the answer

Home Study Course, Stress Relief Solutions No Comments »

Thank you all for the feedback on our online coaching calls. I’m delighted to hear of your successes. I know we have some time before the next class, so keep the emails flowing on things you want help with.

I just received an email from one of the students in the class.  I’m sure it will resonate with many of you. Here is her question.

Student Question:  I would like a self-hypnosis for patience. I tend to lack patience in certain events and when I want to move from one project to the next.

Audrey’s Answer:  Before we can decide on what type of self-hypnotic technique would be effective in creating more patience, we need to get some more information.  Sometimes a lack of patience is caused by negative self-talk.  For instance telling yourself you “can’t” do it.  Or saying you won’t do it right enough.  Or creating a feeling of overwhelm because you feel the task is too big.

First step is to think back to a situation where you didn’t have “patience”.  What does that feel like when you don’t have patience?  Is it a feeling you get in your body? Your mind? Both?  What are you “saying to yourself?”

I’m going to guess that you are telling yourself something negative about the fact that you are moving from one project to another.  Are you giving yourself a hard time for not sticking to one thing?  Or are you feeling overwhelmed with the task and therefore moving to a different one

The answers to these question will tell us where to go next in getting relief from stress and the feeling of lack of patience with yourself or with the task.

For those not in the class you can start with the “Haaa Breath” to change your state (of mind) in just moments.  For the written instructions go to the upper right side of this page and sign in.  Once you’ve done that, you can go to the online coaching web site to get the video on doing this breath.

At the top navigation bar you can watch the video for breathing for calm.  Just click on the “mind expanding exercise” located on the top navigation bar at the online coaching website. Just click here to get to that site. Or go to www.actionendsprocrastination.com.  To get a copy of the Action Plan for each of the last 3 sessions you’ll find them at the top navigation bar at that site as well.  When you put the cursor over “online workshop” there is a drop down with the action plan’s.

Why use Hypnosis for Panic and Anxiety Relief?

Stress Relief Solutions No Comments »

Continued from July 1st post:

Why would a person want to use hypnosis for anxiety, panic or stress relief?   One reason is that hypnosis works quickly, even with long standing issues.  You might wonder how hypnosis helps?  Hypnosis helps you to go into an inner directed state, also called a trance state.  The trance state enables you to gain access to you own very powerful unconscious mind.

Since I specialize in helping people with anxiety, panic, and phobias and most of these people do not want to feel out of control. I use a type of hypnosis where my clients can be in total control, even when in a “trance” state.  Even while awake and aware a person can use self-hypnotic techniques to get to the very root where the patterns of reacting with anxiety and panic, are stored.

You might be wondering why it is important to use a trance state.  For most people the programs that determine our reactions to life are set up before the age of 6.  Since we have gained more information since the age of 6 it is worthwhile to be able to access and correct programs that aren’t working anymore. In order to do this hypnosis is used to develop an inner directed or trance state.

You can learn how to easily get into a trance state.  The easiest way to start the process is to change your breathing pattern.  As you can do this easy breathing pattern it helps you to shift effortlessly into a trance state.

If you would like to receive the instructions for the breathing pattern

Relief of Panic, Anxiety and Fear – Action Steps

Stress Relief Solutions No Comments »

I decided to share some of the Action Steps I’m working with on my students in the Online Coaching class.  I hope you find them helpful.  If you have questions sent the to me here.  If you would like to join us there is still room for 2 more students. You also be getting the added a bonus session with an associate of mine who is a impressive energy healer, she be showing you how to use your own energy to create healing.

Here a part of the Action Plan, I’ve sent to my coaching students.

A  In order to get the most from this workshop we want to set up the baseline for the challenges and issues you face.

B  Step One: List all the challenges or emotions that are getting in your way:

1. Use specific situations:
2. Examples of challenges: fear, sadness, anger, panic attacks, low self esteem, social phobia, fear of speaking in public, fear of needles, test anxiety, flying, etc

3. Make sure you state the details of the situation, not just the emotion.
a. Where does this problem occur?
b.  Who is there in the situation.
c . What specifically is happening in the situation.
d.  What are you saying to yourself, see if you can “catch” the thoughts moving through your mind when you think of the situation?

This is an important exercise. You can do it quickly or take your time. The important thing is to have something written down.  In this class we will be working on one of the top 3 issues you choose to work on.

In our next class on June 23rd I’ll give you the questions to help you focus inward. We’ll use these questions to get to the real desires, and to unearth things that is getting in the way of you achieving your goals.

For now just write down you list and pick 3 that you want to work on.  I’ll show you how to use the information in the next workshop.  This is an important piece of the blueprint for change from the Transformation System used at the Anxiety Control Center.

Benefits of setting a baseline:

C  When you set up a base line of challenges and issues you get 3 benefits
1. Choices will become clearer.
2.  You will feel more in control, by having a place to start.
3.  You will be able to measure the changes that happen.

Are some people more prone to worrying than others?

Stress Relief Solutions No Comments »

Some people do seem more prone to worry than others.  There are many different ways that people can respond to events happening in the world they live in.  An event that hardly creates a ripple in one person’s life, can completely distress another person.

Have you ever found your thoughts spinning off into all sorts of worry, or that one worrisome thought brings on a slew of more fearful thoughts? This happens to  many intelligent and creative people.  Because of your creativity it seems you mind can instantly produce many negative thoughts that lead to worry.  There is a way to change this.

First it is important to understand where these patterns come from.

The reason some people worry more is because of the filters they see their world through.   These filters will “color” your current interpretation and reactions.

The reason people react differently is rooted in experiences had in childhood.  As a child you learned coping skills to deal with stress, anger and fear.  These  patterns of dealing with emotions served a positive purpose at the time.  But many times these patterns are no longer useful for the adult.

Many beliefs formed in childhood continue to run in adulthood.  Here is an example of a “filter” or belief that was not serving one of my clients.   She believed that worrying about someone meant that she cared.

For her not worrying meant that she didn’t care. You can see how difficult it would be for her to stop worrying about those she cared about.  We needed to change this old belief about how to care about people to one that would free her up to care without the worry.

Another client believed that if she didn’t worry something bad would happen.  She had a number of experiences in her very traumatic childhood where she learned that worry kept her safe. At the time worry had a positive purpose,  it protected her from her alcoholic parents. But it wasn’t the worry that truly kept her safe, it’s what she did with it. She’d run every possible consequence through her mind to make the best decisions.

But as an adult she found it difficult to let go of connection between worry and safety. Her fear of not worrying was creating havoc in her life.  Her worry that something bad would happen, if she didn’t worry, was limiting her from moving forward in her life .

There are techniques to change these types of patterns and beliefs, which are best done with someone trained in Transformation System techniques.  There are also techniques to use your own thoughts to change patterns. We all have the solutions within us . . .  to be continued in the next post

Is it hard to learn self-hypnosis? Can it help me to get motivated to achieve goals I want?

Stress Relief Solutions No Comments »

Q:  Is it hard to learn self-hypnosis? Can it help me to get motivated to achieve goals I want?

I believe than any goal can be achieved when you break it down into small enough pieces.

Most of us get stuck because of the overwhelming feeling that overtakes us when our goals are so big we don’t know where to start.

One of the reasons I teach my students to do a number of self-hypnosis techniques is that they can then get underneath the goal to the hoped for benefits of achieving the goal. By going into a trance state  you can get to unconscious information that will help you to move easily towards goals.   Once you are in touch with the unconscious part of the mind it becomes much easier to break the goals down into doable pieces.

By having a “tool box” of simple steps and mental tools  you can build up confidence.  Then when you are ready to tackle the next set of tasks they seem easy to do as well. Learning to do anything is easier when you know how to break it down.  We all already have the building blocks within us, trance allows us to access them.

Case study. We have the solutions within us . . .  to be continued in the next post

Testimonial from coaching student

Stress Relief Solutions No Comments »

The following was an email I received from one of my coaching students.

When we started in the online coaching course 4 sessions ago, this client hadn’t been out of the house because anxiety was so great.  She found her life limited in so many ways and her self concept was at a low.  Although some of the techniques she talks about may not be familiar, her new feeling about herself are obvious.  She has taken all that I teach and made it her own.  The following is her email.

Hi Audrey,

As I was listening to your questions on what did the feeling feel like and where did I feel it, I began to get an insight.

Getting in touch with my feelings and my body helps me to be in touch with myself to understand me. It helps me to identify a feeling(s) so I’m put in a position to use it in the way that helps me.

Getting in touch with my feelings also helps me to identify where I feel any kind of negative feelings in my body and replace it even change it with the “anchor” you help me set up.

This particular session has helped me realize even more, that my feelings do matter and I am important.  I do matter, and my life is important. When I consider my feelings to take good care of me, it makes me want to consider other people’s feelings and be more kind to them.  I’m beginning to understand the concept of “you only can love others when you love yourself”.

Thank you Audrey for all the work you have put in and you’re putting in to help so many, you are making a difference.  Carolyn
